The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Large Goods and Passenger-Carrying Vehicles) (Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations 1992

    The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 89(3) and (4)(b), 105(1), (3) and (4), 108(1)[1] and 192(1)[2] of the Road Traffic Act 1988[3], and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 195(2) of that Act, and with the approval of the Treasury, hereby makes the following Regulations:
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Large Goods and Passenger-Carrying Vehicles) (Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 14th August 1992.
        2.—(1)  The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Large Goods and Passenger-Carrying Vehicles) Regulations 1990[4] shall be amended in accordance with the following provision of this regulation.

        (2)  In paragraph (2) of regulation 15 (Applications for tests) for sub-paragraphs (a) to (c) there shall be substituted the following sub-paragraphs—
        "(a) in respect of a test to be conducted on a day other than a Saturday—
          (i) £48 if the application for the test is made before 14th August 1992, and
          (ii) £55.50 if the application is made on or after that date;
        (b) in respect of a test to be conducted on a Saturday, £75." .

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations amend regulation 15 of the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Large Goods and Passenger-Carrying Vehicles) Regulations 1990 so as to increase the fee payable for a test of competence to drive a large goods or passenger-carrying vehicle taken on a day other than a Saturday from £48 to £55.50. There is no increase in the fee for such a test taken on a Saturday.
