The Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Torture) (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) Order 1992

Made 15th July 1992
Coming into force 15th August 1992

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 15th day of July 1992

Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

    Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 138(1) of the Criminal Justice Act 1988[1], or otherwise in Her Majesty vested, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Torture) (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) Order 1992 and shall come into force on 15th August 1992.
        2.    The Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Torture) (Overseas Territories) Order 1988[2] shall be amended by the addition of Bermuda to the Territories specified in Schedule 2 to that Order.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order extends sections 134 and 135 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988, subject to modifications, to Bermuda.
