SOCIAL SECURITY

The Social Security Act 1990 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1992

The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 23(2) of the Social Security Act 1990^[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation
    1.    This Order may be cited as the Social Security Act 1990 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1992.

Appointed day
    2.    The day appointed for the coming into force of paragraph 2 of Schedule 4 to the Social Security Act 1990 (occupational and personal pension schemes: employer to make good deficiencies on winding up), and section 14 of that Act in so far as it relates to it, shall be 29th June 1992.

This Order provides for the coming into force on 29th June 1992 of paragraph 2 of Schedule 4 to the Social Security Act 1990, which inserts section 58B in the Social Security Pensions Act 1975 to make provision relating to deficiencies in the assets of a scheme on winding up.
