REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS, DEATHS, MARRIAGES, ETC
ENGLAND AND WALES

The Registration of Births and Deaths (Welsh Language) (Amendment) Regulations 1992

Made 24th June 1992
Coming into force 1st August 1992

    The Registrar General, in exercise of powers conferred on him by sections 1(1), 10(1), 10A(1), 39 and 41 of the Births and Deaths Registration Act 1953[1], as extended by sections 2(2) and 3 of the Welsh Language Act 1967[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, with the approval[3] of the Secretary of State for Wales[4], hereby makes the following Regulations:
    Citation, commencement and interpretation
        1.—(1)  These Regulations may be cited as the Registration of Births and Deaths (Welsh Language) (Amendment) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 1st August 1992.

        (2)  In these Regulations "the principal Regulations" means the Registration of Births and Deaths (Welsh Language) Regulations 1987[5] and unless the context otherwise requires any reference to a numbered regulation or Schedule is a reference to the regulation or the Schedule bearing that number in the principal Regulations.
    Amendment of regulation 2
        2.    In regulation 2(a) (prescribed forms for registration of births and deaths) for the words "that is to say forms 1 to 6" there shall be substituted the words "that is to say forms 1 to 6B".
    Amendment of Schedule 2
        3.    In Schedule 2 (prescribed forms)—
       (a) in the contents, after the entry relating to form 6 there shall be inserted the following entries in the first, second, third and fourth columns respectively—

        6A Declaration by parent on request for the registration of a birth the Act, section 10(1)(d) to (g) 6A
        6B Declaration by parent on request for the re-registration of a birth the Act, section 10A(1)(d) to (g) 6B
       (b) for form 6 there shall be substituted the form 6 in Part I of the Schedule to these Regulations; and
       (c) after form 6 there shall be inserted forms 6A and 6B in Part II of the Schedule to these Regulations.
    Amendment of Schedule 3
        4.    Schedule 3 (prescribed words)—
       (a) for the entry "Reg. 10(b)(ii)" in column 1 there shall be substituted the entry "Reg. 10(1)(b)(ii)",
       (b) for the entry "Reg. 10(b)(iii)" in column 1 there shall be substituted the entry "Reg. 10(1)(b)(iii)",
       (c) for the entry "Reg. 10(b)(iv)" in column 1 there shall be substituted the entry "Reg. 10(1)(b)(iv)",
       (d) after that entry relating to regulation 10(1)(b)(iv) there shall be inserted the following entries in columns (1), (2) and (3) respectively—
