PARTNERSHIP

The Partnerships (Unrestricted Size) No. 4 (Amendment) Regulations 1992

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the power conferred on him by sections 716(2)(d) and 744 of the Companies Act 1985^[1], hereby makes the following Regulations:—

    1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Partnerships (Unrestricted Size) No. 4 (Amendment) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 10th July 1992.

    2.    Regulation 2 of the Partnerships (Unrestricted Size) No. 4 Regulations 1970^[2], shall be amended by substituting for the words "the Council of Engineering Institutions" the words "The Engineering Council".

Section 716 of the Companies Act 1985 prohibits the formation of partnerships consisting of more than 20 persons. These Regulations amend the Partnerships (Unrestricted Size) No. 4 Regulations 1970 (S.I. 1970/1319) which provide an exemption from that prohibition. They replace a reference to the Council of Engineering Institutions by a reference to its successor body, The Engineering Council.
