ROAD TRAFFIC Motorways Traffic (England and Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 1992
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Motorways Traffic (England and Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 1st July 1992.
2. The Motorways Traffic (England and Wales) Regulations 1982[2] shall be further amended in accordance with the following provisions of these Regulations.
3.(1) Regulation 11 shall be renumbered as paragraph (1) of that regulation and after that provision as so renumbered there shall be inserted the following paragraphs-
(3) In this regulation, "large goods vehicle" and "passenger-carrying vehicle" have the meanings given by section 121 of the Road Traffic Act 1988[3]."
4.(1) Regulation 12 shall be amended as follows. (2) In paragraph (1)-
(3) For paragraph (4) there shall be substituted the following paragraphs-
(5) In this Regulation- "goods vehicle" and "maximum laden weight" have the same meanings as in Schedule 6 to the 1984 Act, and "overall length" has the meaning given by regulation 3(2) of the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986[4]."
5. Regulation 13 shall be omitted.
6.(1) In regulation 3(1), for sub-paragraph (a) there shall be substituted the following sub-paragraph-
(2) For regulation 4, there shall be substituted the following regulation-
(3) In regulation 11, for the words "section 88(2) of the Road Traffic Act 1972" there shall be substituted the words "section 97(2) of the Road Traffic Act 1988" and for the words "section 85 of the Road Traffic Act 1972" there shall be substituted the words "section 89 of that Act".
