The Education (Chief Inspector of Schools in England) Order 1992

At the Court of Buckingham Palace, the 4th day of June 1992

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in pursuance of sections 1(1) and 1(4) of the Education (Schools) Act 1992^[1], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

    1.    This Order may be cited as the Education (Chief Inspector of Schools in England) Order 1992 and shall come into force on 6th July 1992.

    2.    Professor Stewart Ross Sutherland is hereby appointed Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Schools in England for a period of five years from 1st September 1992.
