ROAD TRAFFIC

The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 (Commencement) Order 1992

Made 4th June 1992

    The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(7) of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991[1] and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Order:
    Citation and interpretation
        1.—(1)  This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 (Commencement) Order 1992.

        (2)  In this Order—
      "the 1984 Act" means the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[2].

      "the 1991 Act" means the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.

    Commencement
        2.    The 1991 Act shall come into force on 1st July 1992.
    Transitional
        3.—(1)  Where a traffic authority has caused notice of intention to make an order under section 14 of the 1984 Act to be published pursuant to Schedule 3 to that Act before 1st July 1992, the traffic authority may make such an order in accordance with the notice and any regulations made under section 16 of that Act shall not apply to the order.

        (2)  Where a traffic authority makes an order on or after 1st July 1992 in accordance with a notice so published before that date, paragraph 2 of Schedule 3 to the 1984 Act shall apply to the order as if that paragraph had not been repealed by the 1991 Act.
        4.    The 1991 Act shall not have effect in relation to an order made or notice issued under section 14 of the 1984 Act before 1st July 1992.

    This Order brings the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 into force on 1st July 1992. The Order contains transitional provisions.
