AGRICULTURE

The Suckler Cow Premium (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 1992

    The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Secretaries of State concerned with agriculture in Wales and Scotland, with the consent of the Treasury, acting jointly, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 3 of the Agriculture and Forestry (Financial Provisions) Act 1991[1] and the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Secretary of State, being Ministers designated[2] for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[3] in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Economic Community, acting jointly in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the said section 2(2) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:—
    Title, extent, commencement and interpretation
        1.—(1)  These Regulations may be cited as the Suckler Cow Premium (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 1992, shall apply in Great Britain and shall come into force on 15th June 1992.

        (2)  In these Regulations "the principal Regulations" means the Suckler Cow Premium Regulations 1991[4].
    Amendment of the principal Regulations
        2.    The principal Regulations shall be further amended in accordance with regulation 3 of these Regulations.
        3.    In regulation 4(1) of the principal Regulations for the words "The appropriate Minister", there shall be substituted the words "In relation to applications for premium lodged during the period 1991/1992 specified in Article 1 of Council Regulation (EEC) No. 3605/91[5], the appropriate Minister".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations amend for the second time the Suckler Cow Premium Regulations 1991 ( "the principal Regulations") and come into force on 15th June 1992.
    These Regulations restrict the payment of the additional premium (defined in regulation 2(1) of the principal Regulations) to applications for such premium lodged within the period 15th June 1991 to 31st January 1992.
