WATER SUPPLY, SCOTLAND

The Council Water Charge (Scotland) Regulations 1992

Laid before Parliament 3rd June 1992
Coming into force 24th June 1992

    The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 116(1) of, and paragraph 11 of Schedule 11 to, the Local Government Finance Act 1992([1]) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
    Citation, commencement and interpretation
        1.—(1)  These Regulations may be cited as the Council Water Charge (Scotland) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 24th June 1992.

        (2)  In these Regulations, "the Act" means the Local Government Finance Act 1992 and any reference to a section or Schedule is, unless otherwise expressly stated, a reference to a section of, or a Schedule to, the Act.
    Application to council water charge
        2.    For the purposes of paragraph 11 of Schedule 11 to the Act (which provides for the provisions of sections 71, 75 to 81, 96, 97 and 99(3) of the Act to have effect, subject to such adaptations, exceptions and modifications as may be prescribed, in relation to the council water charge as they have effect in relation to the council tax), there are prescribed the adaptations, exceptions and modifications set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.
