EDUCATION, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Education (Further and Higher Education Institutions Access Funds) (Amendment) Regulations 1992

Made 8th May 1992
Laid before Parliament 20th May 1992
Coming into force 10th June 1992

    In exercise of the powers conferred by section 100(1)(b) and (3) of the Education Act 1944[1] and vested in the Secretary of State[2] the Secretary of State for Wales hereby makes the following Regulations:
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Further and Higher Education Institutions Access Funds) (Amendment) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 10th June 1992.
        2.    The Education (Further and Higher Education Access Funds) Regulations 1990[3] shall be amended by the addition at the end of the Schedule to those Regulations of the following institutions:

        "Cardiff Institute of Higher Education
        Coleg Normal, Bangor
        Gwent College of Higher Education
        Swansea Institute of Higher Education
        The Polytechnic of Wales
        The Welsh College of Music and Drama" .

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    The Education (Further and Higher Education Access Funds) Regulations 1990 empower the Secretary of State to pay access funds to the governing bodies of certain institutions of further and higher education specified in the Schedule thereto, and certain other such institutions as are therein mentioned, for the financial assistance of students at those institutions. These Regulations amend those earlier Regulations by the insertion in the said Schedule to those Regulations of the institutions referred to herein.
