NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Regional and District Health Authorities (Membership and Procedure) Amendment Regulations 1992

Made 21st February 1992
Laid before Parliament 3rd March 1992
Coming into force 1st April 1993

    The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of powers conferred by section 128(1) of the National Health Service Act 1977[1] and paragraph 2(3) of Schedule 1 to the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990[2] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
    Citation and commencement
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Regional and District Health Authorities (Membership and Procedure) Amendment Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 1st April 1993.
    University non-officer members for District Health Authorities
        2.    The Regional and District Health Authorities (Membership and Procedure) Regulations 1990[3] are amended by the substitution in Part I of Schedule 1 for the entries "Camberwell Health Authority", "Lewisham and North Southwark Health Authority" and "West Lambeth Health Authority" of the entry "South East London Health Authority".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations amend Part I of Schedule 1 to the Regional and District Health Authorities (Membership and Procedure) Regulations 1990 which lists District Health Authorities in England which are to have at least one non-officer member who holds a post in a university with a medical or dental school.
    In consequence of the abolition of Camberwell Health Authority, Lewisham and North Southwark Health Authority and West Lambeth Health Authority and the establishment of a new South East London Health Authority, the entry "South East London Health Authority" replaces the entries "Camberwell Health Authority", "Lewisham and North Southwark Health Authority" and "West Lambeth Health Authority".
