POLICE

The Police Cadets (Amendment) Regulations 1992

Made 17th February 1992
Laid before Parliament 24th February 1992
Coming into force 30th March 1992

    In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 35 of the Police Act 1964[1], and after taking into consideration the recommendation made by the Police Negotiating Board for the United Kingdom and furnishing the said Board with a draft of the Regulations in accordance with section 2(1) of the Police Negotiating Board Act 1980[2], I hereby make the following Regulations:
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Police Cadets (Amendment) Regulations 1992.
        2.    These Regulations shall come into force on 30th March 1992 and shall have effect for the purposes of regulation 3(a) and (b) as from 1st July 1991.
        3.    The Police Cadets Regulations 1979[3] shall be amended as follows:
       (a) in regulation 13 for the words "in Schedule 2 hereto" there shall be substituted the words—
          "(a) in respect of the period beginning with 1st July 1991 and ending with 31st August 1991, in Part I of the Table in Schedule 2 hereto, and
          (b) in respect of the period thereafter, in Part II of the said Table" ;
       (b) for the Table in Schedule 2 (scales of pay) there shall be substituted the following Table—

        Table
        age london provinces
        part i—pay from 1st july 1991 to 31st august 1991
        under 17 years £4,809 a year £4,002 a year
        17 years £5,052 a year £4,245 a year
        18 years or over £5,532 a year £4,725 a year
        part ii—pay from 1st september 1991
        under 17 years £5,040 a year £4,233 a year
        17 years £5,298 a year £4,491 a year
        18 years or over £5,805 a year £4,998 a year.
       (c) in paragraph 2 of Schedule 3 (charge for board and lodging) there shall be substituted for the words "£603" the words "£639" and for the words "£558" the words "£591".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations further amend the Police Cadets Regulations 1979. Regulation 3(a) and (b) increase the pay of cadets attached to the Metropolitan Police Force from 1st July 1991 and again from 1st September 1991 and of cadets elsewhere from 1st September 1991 (retrospection is authorized by section 33(4), as applied by section 35(2), of the Police Act 1964). Regulation 3(c) increases charges payable by cadets for board and lodging provided by police authorities.
