TRIBUNALS AND INQUIRIES

The Tribunals and Inquiries (Specified Tribunals) Order 1991

Made 2nd December 1991
Laid before Parliament 2nd December 1991
Coming into force 1st January 1992

    The Lord Chancellor and the Lord Advocate, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 15(1) of the Tribunals and Inquiries Act 1971[1], hereby make the following Order-
    Citation, commencement and interpretation
        1.    -

        (1)  This Order may be cited as the Tribunals and Inquiries (Specified Tribunals) Order 1991 and shall come into force on 1st January 1992.

        (2)  In this Order, "the 1971 Act" means the Tribunals and Inquiries Act 1971.
    Part I of Schedule 1 to the 1971 Act
        2.    Part I of Schedule 1 to the 1971 Act shall have effect as if there were specified therein-
       (a) the committees appointed for the purposes of sections 16, 17B and 25 of the Forestry Act 1967[2], being committees the members of which are appointed by the Minister having functions under those sections as respects England and Wales; and
       (b) the tribunal constituted in accordance with section 47 of the Building Societies Act 1986[3].
    Part II of Schedule 1 to the 1971 Act
        3.    Part II of Schedule 1 to the 1971 Act shall have effect as if there were specified therein-
       (a) the committees appointed for the purposes of sections 16, 17B and 25 of the Forestry Act 1967, being committees the members of which are appointed by the Minister having functions under those sections as respects Scotland; and
       (b) the National Appeal Panel convened in accordance with Part IV of Schedule 3A to the National Health Service (General Medical and Pharmaceutical Services) (Scotland) Regulations 1974[4].

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order brings under the supervision of the Council on Tribunals certain forestry committees appointed under the Forestry Act 1967, the appeal tribunal constituted under the Building Societies Act 1986 and the National Appeal Panel convened in accordance with the National Health Service (General Medical and Pharmaceutical Services) (Scotland) Regulations 1974.
