The Local Authorities (Armorial Bearings) Order 1991

Made 19th November 1991
Coming into force 20th November 1991

At the Court at Buckingham Place, the 19th day of November 1991

Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

    Her Majesty, by virtue and in exercise of the powers conferred on her by section 247 of the Local Government Act 1972[1], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Local Authorities (Armorial Bearings) Order 1991 and shall come into force on 20th November 1991.
        2.    The amorial bearings which, immediately before 1st April 1974, were borne and used by Tenterden borough council, may be borne and used by the Tenterden town council, provided they have first been exemplified according to the law of arms and recorded in the College of Arma.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order authorises Tenterden town council to bear and use the amorial bearings of the former Tenterden borough council.
