SALMON AND FRESHWATER FISHERIES

The Annual Close Time (River Nairn Salmon Fishery District) Order 1991

Made 19th September 1991
Coming into force 20th September 1991

    The Secretary of State, on application to him by the River Nairn District Salmon Fishery Board, having carried out all necessary consultations and complied with all necessary procedures as required by paragraphs 3, 4 and 6 of Schedule 1 to the Salmon Act 1986[1] as applied by section 6(6) of that Act (there being no objections or representations duly made with respect to the proposals in the application), in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 6(3) of that Act and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
    Citation and commencement
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Annual Close Time (River Nairn Salmon Fishery District) Order 1991 and shall come into force on 20th September 1991.
    Period within annual close time for salmon fishing by rod and line
        2.    For the River Nairn Salmon Fishery District[2] the period within the annual close time (the dates of which are by virtue of the provisions referred to in section 6(2)(b) of the Salmon Act 1986, 27th August to 24th February) when it is permitted to fish for and take salmon by rod and line is prescribed as the period from 27th August to 7th October, both dates inclusive.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    In relation to the annual close time of the River Nairn salmon fishery district (27th August to 24th February) this Order prescribes the period from 27th August to 7th October within that annual close time as the period during which fishing for salmon by rod and line is permitted.
