MAGISTRATES' COURTS

The Maintenance Enforcement Act 1991 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1991

Made 9th September 1991

    In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 12(2) of the Maintenance Enforcement Act 1991[1], I hereby make the following Order:
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Maintenance Enforcement Act 1991 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1991.
        2.    The following provisions of the Maintenance Enforcement Act 1991 shall come into force on 14th October 1991-
       (a) Section 11(1) to the extent necessary to bring into force paragraph 11 of Schedule 2; and
       (b) paragraph 11 of Schedule 2.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order brings into force on 14th October 1991 paragraph 11 of Schedule 2 to the Maintenance Enforcement Act 1991. Paragraph 11(1) of the Schedule amends section 10 of the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990 (c. 41) by amending the meaning of "family proceedings" for the purposes of that section and paragraph 11(2) broadens the rule-making power under section 144 of the Magistrates' Courts Act 1980 (c. 43)
