EDUCATION, ENGLAND AND WALES

The School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1991 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1991

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6(5) of the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1991^[1] the Secretary of State for Education and Science hereby makes the following Order:

    1.    This Order may be cited as the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1991 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1991.

    2.    Sections 1, 4, 5 and subsections (1), (2), (4) and (5) of section 6 of, and Schedule 1 to, the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1991 shall come into force on 22nd August 1991.

This Order brings into force on 22nd August 1991 all the provisions of the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1991 except section 2 (which relates to the making of pay and conditions orders), section 3 (which makes special provisions as to grantmaintained schools) and subsection (3) of section 6 and Schedule 2 (which repeal the Teachers' Pay and Conditions Act 1987 (c. 1) and related provisions of the Education Reform Act 1988 (c. 40)).
