MATRIMONIAL CAUSES

Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1991

Made 30th April 1991

    The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 47(1)(e) of the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984[1] hereby makes the following Order:—
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1991.
        2.    The following provisions of the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984 shall come into force on 14th October 1991:—
       (a) sections 40 and 41; and
       (b) so much of Schedule 3 as has not already been brought into force and section 46(3) so far as it relates thereto.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order brings into force on 14th October 1991 sections 40 and 41 of the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984, which empower the Lord Chancellor to make Family Proceedings Rules and prescribe (with Treasury consent) the fees which are to be taken in family proceedings. It also brings into force the repeals of the powers to make Matrimonial Causes Rules and regulate fees contained in the Matrimonial Causes Act1973 (c. 18) .
