SUPREME COURT OF ENGLAND AND WALES

The High Court (Distribution of Business) Order 1991

Made 30th April 1991
Laid before Parliament 3rd June 1991
Coming into force 14th October 1991

    The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 61(3)(a) and (c) of the Supreme Court Act 1981[1] , hereby makes the following order:—
        1.    This Order may be cited as the High Court (Distribution of Business) Order 1991.
        2.    There shall be assigned to the Family Division all business in the High Court of any of the following descriptions:—
       (a) all proceedings under:—
         (i) the Domestic Violence and Matrimonial Proceedings Act 1976[2] ;
         (ii) the Child Abduction and Custody Act 1985[3] ;
         (iii) the Family Law Act 1986[4] ;
         (iv) section 30 of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 1990[5] ; and
       (b) all proceedings for the purpose of enforcing an order made in any proceedings of a type described in paragraph 3 of Schedule 1 to the Supreme Court Act 1981[6] .
        3.    Paragraph 3 of Schedule 1 to the Supreme Court Act 1981 shall be amended in accordance with the Schedule to this Order, being an amendment which is consequential on the provisions of article 2 above.
        4.    This Order shall come into force on 14th October 1991.
