The Collision Regulations (Seapanes) (Guernsey) (Amendment) Order 1991

Made 20th March 1991
Laid before Parliament 3rd April 1991
Coming into force 19th April 1991

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 20th day of March 1991

present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

    Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 418(1) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1894[1] as extended by section 97(1) of the Civil Aviation Act 1982[2] and by section 738 of the said Act of 1894 and of all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, on the joint recommendation of the Secretary of State for Defence and the Secretary of State for Transport[3], and by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, is pleased to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Collision Regulations (Seaplanes) (Guernsey) (Amendment) Order 1991 and shall come into force on 19th April 1991.
        2.    The Collision Regulations (Seaplanes)(Guernsey) Order 1990[4] shall be amended as follows:

        (1)  In article 1(2), for the words "as amended by Resolution A464 (XII) of the International Maritime Organisation[5] and as further amended with effect from 19th November 1989 by Resolution A626(15) of that Organisation" there shall be substituted "as amended by Resolutions A646 (XII) (b) and A626(15)[6] of the International Maritime Organisation and as further amended with effect from 19th April 1991 by Resolution A678(16) of that Organisation".

        (2)  In article 4, after the words "the Merchant Shipping (Distress Signals and Prevention of Collisions) Regulations 1989"[7] there shall be added "as amended by the Merchant Shipping (Distress Signals and Prevention of Collisions) (Amendment) Regulations 1991, and"[8] and after the words "the Merchant Shipping (Distress Signals and Prevention of Collisions)(Guernsey) Order 1989"[9] there shall be added "as amended by the Merchant Shipping (Distress Signals and Prevention of Collisions) (Guernsey) (Amendment) Order 1991"[10].

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order amends the Collision Regulations (Seaplanes) (Guernsey) Order 1990 to update references to include Resolution A678(16) of the International Maritime Organisation and amendments to the Merchant Shipping (Distress Signals and Prevention of Collisions) Regulations 1989 and the Merchant Shipping (Distress Signals and Prevention of Collisions) (Guernsey) Order 1989, which will come into force on 19th April 1991.
