LOCAL GOVERNMENT, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Local Government Reorganisation (Property)(West Midlands) Order 1990

Made 26th September 1990
Laid before Parliament 4th October 1990
Coming into force 25th October 1990

    Whereas the West Midlands Residuary Body, acting pursuant to section 67(2) of the Local Government Act 1985[1] has submitted proposals to the Secretary of State for the transfer of certain property, rights and liabilities to local authorities, and he has decided to give effect to those proposals;
    Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 67(3) of that Act, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
    Citation and commencement
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Local Government Reorganisation (Property)(West Midlands) Order 1990, and shall come into force on 25th October 1990.
    Transfer of property
        2.    All interests of the West Midlands Residuary Body in the land described in Column 1 of the Schedule to this Order shall vest in the local authority specified in Column 2.
    Rights and liabilities
        3.    All rights and liabilities of the West Midlands Residuary Body in relation to the land transferred by article 2, and all records relating exclusively to such land, shall vest in the local authority to which it is so transferred.
