The Registered Designs (Amendment) Rules 1990

Laid before Parliament 23rd July 1990
Coming into force 13th August 1990

    The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 32(1) of the Registered Designs Act 1949[1]and after consultation with the Council on Tribunals pursuant to section 10(1) of the Tribunals and Inquiries Act 1971[2], hereby makes the following Rules:—
        1.    These Rules may be cited as the Registered Designs (Amendment) Rules 1990 and shall come into force on 13th August 1990.
        2.    Rule 11 of the Registered Designs Rules 1989[3]is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Rules)
    These Rules revoke rule 11 of the Registered Designs Rules 1989 (which authorised the Registrar to refuse to recognise certain persons as agents in respect of any business under the Registered Designs Act 1949) consequent on the making of similar rules under section 281 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (c. 48) (see S.I. 1990/1454)and the repeal by that Act of section 32 of the Registered Designs Act 1949.
