The Stock Transfer (Gilt-edged Securities) (Exempt Transfer) (Amendment) Regulations 1990

Made 8th May 1990
Laid before Parliament 10th May 1990
Coming into force 1st June 1990

    Whereas the securities which are the subject of these Regulations are for the time being specified in the list in Schedule 1 to theStock Transfer Act 1982[1];
    And Whereas the person in whom liability for the said securities has vested has agreed that the securities may be transferredthrough the medium of a computer-based system established by the Bank of England and The International Stock Exchange:
    Now, therefore, the Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1(1) and (4) of the Stock Transfer Act 1982, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:—
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Stock Transfer (Gilt-edged Securities) (Exempt Transfer) (Amendment) Regulations 1990 and shall come into force on 1st June 1990.
        2.    In the Schedule to the Stock Transfer (Gilt-edged Securities) (Exempt Transfer) Regulations 1985[2] for the words "The Thames Water Authority" there shall be substituted the words "Thames Water Utilities Limited".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations amend the Stock Transfer (Gilt-edged Securities) (Exempt Transfer) Regulations 1985, which provide for the transfer of gilt-edged securities through the computer-based system known as the CGO Service established by the Bank of England and The International Stock Exchange, by substituting a reference to Thames Water Utilities Limited for the existing reference to The Thames Water Authority in the list of specified securities which may be so transferred.
