FEES AND CHARGES

The Measuring Instruments (EEC Requirements) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1990

    The Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, with the consent of the Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 56(1) and (2) of the Finance Act 1973[1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Measuring Instruments (EEC Require-ments) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1990 and shall come into force on 2nd April 1990.
        2.    The Measuring Instruments (EEC Requirements) (Fees) Regulations 1988[2] are hereby amended as follows—
       (a) in regulation 3(2), for "£26.20" there shall be substituted "£28.00";
       (b) in paragraph (a) of Schedule 2, for "£44.60" there shall be substituted "£48.00"; and
       (c) in paragraph 1(1)(a) of Schedule 3, for "£37.20", "£30.20" and "£11.20" there shall be substituted respectively "£33.00", "£48.00" and "£9.20".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations further amend the fees payable in connection with services provided by the Department of Trade and Industry so that, with effect from 2nd April 1990—
        (1)  the fees payable for an application for EEC initial verification of all classes of alcoholometers and alcohol hydrometers are increased from £26.20 to £28.00;

        (2)  the fees payable per hour for EEC initial verification of certain instruments and systems are increased from £44.60 to £48.00; and

        (3)  the fees payable per hour for EEC pattern approval for examiner staff time, for equipment test unit staff time and for the use of an environmental testing chamber are amended from £37.20, £30.20 and £11.20 to, respectively, £33.00, £48.00 and £9.20.
