The River Hull (Navigation) Rules (Amendment) Order 1990

The Counsellors of State in Council

    Whereas Her Majesty in pursuance of the Regency Acts 1937 to 1953, was pleased, by Letters Patent dated the 18th day of January 1990 to delegate to the six Counsellors of State therein named or any two or more of them full power and authority during the period of Her Majesty's absence from the United Kingdom to summon and hold on Her Majesty's behalf Her Privy Council and to signify thereat Her Majesty's approval for anything for which Her Majesty's approval in Council is required:
    And whereas the Kingston upon Hill City Council, who have authority over the waters of the River Hull, have made application in pursuance of section 421(2) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1894[1] for the amendment of the existing Rules concerning steps for avoiding collisions to be taken by vessels navigating the said river:
    Now, therefore, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and His Royal Highness The Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, being authorised thereto by the said Letters Patent, and in pursuance of the powers conferred upon Her Majesty by the said section 421(2) and by section 738(1) of the said Act and of all other powers enabling Her Majesty, and by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, do order on Her Majesty's behalf, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—
        1.    This Order may be cited as the River Hull (Navigation) Rules (Amendment) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 16th March 1990.
        2.    Rule 18 of the Schedule to the River Hull (Navigation) Rules Order 1957[2] is hereby further amended as follows:
    In Rule 18 for the words "the Merchant Shipping (Distress Signals and Prevention of Collisions) Regulations 1983"[3] there shall be substituted the words: "the Merchant Shipping (Distress Signals and Prevention of Collisions) Regulations 1989"[4] and for the words "the Collision Rules (Seaplanes) Order 1983"[5] there shall be substituted "the Collision Regulations (Seaplanes) Order 1989"[6].
        3.    The River Hull (Navigation) Rules (Amendment No. 2) Order 1983[7] is hereby revoked.

    This Order amends the River Hull (Navigation) Rules Order 1957 by updating the reference in Rule 18 to the Collision Regulations.
