ELECTRICITY

The Electricity Act 1989 (Transfer Date) (England and Wales) Order 1990

Made 7th February 1990

    The Secretary of State, in exercise of the power conferred by section 65(1) of the Electricity Act 1989 [1], and of all other enabling powers, and with the consent of the Treasury, hereby makes the following Order:—
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Electricity Act 1989 (Transfer Date) (England and Wales) Order 1990.
        2.    The day appointed for the purposes of sections 65(1) and 66(5) of the Electricity Act 1989 shall be 31st March 1990.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    By the Electricity Act 1989 (Nominated Companies) (England and Wales) Order 1990/S.I. 1990/224, the Secretary of State nominated the companies mentioned in the Schedules to that Order as successor companies to the Electricity Boards in England and Wales and the Electricity Council.
    This Order appoints 31st March 1990 as the day on which the property, rights and liabilities of the Electricity Boards in England and Wales and the Electricity Council (subject in the case of the Electricity Council to the exceptions specified in section 66(2) and (6) of the 1989 Act) become property, rights and liabilities of the successor companies.
