CORONERS

The Coroners' Records (Fees for Copies) (Amendment) Rules 1990

In pursuance of section 24(3) of the Coroners Act 1988^[1], I hereby make the following Rules:

    1.    These Rules may be cited as the Coroners' Records (Fees for Copies) (Amendment) Rules 1990 and shall come into force on 1st March 1990.

    2.—(1)  The Coroners' Records (Fees for Copies) Rules 1982^[2] shall be amended in accordance with the following provisions of this rule.

    (2)  In rule 2 —
 (a) in paragraph (i), for "£2.60" there shall be substituted "£3.85";
 (b) in paragraph (ii), for "£5.50" there shall be substituted "£8.10";
 (c) in paragraph (iii), for "£5.50" and "30p" there shall be substituted respectively "£8.10" and "45p", and
 (d) in the proviso, for "Rule 16(2) of the Coroners Rules 1953^[3]" there shall be substituted "rule 20(2) of the Coroners Rules 1984^[4]".

    (3)  In rule 3, for "55p" there shall be substituted "80p".

These Rules amend the Coroners' Records (Fees for Copies) Rules 1982. They increase the fee payable to a coroner or other person for furnishing a copy of an inquisition or other document in his custody relating to an inquest. The amounts increased by rule 2(2) relate to fees for copies other than photographic copies and the amount increased by rule 2(3) relates to the fee for a photographic copy.
