ROAD TRAFFIC

The Goods Vehicles (Authorisation of International Journeys) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1989

Made 6th November 1989
Laid before Parliament 17th November 1989
Coming into force 8th December 1989

    The Secretary of State for Transport, with the consent of the Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 56(1) and (2) of the Finance Act 1973[1] , and now vested in him[2] , and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Regulations:
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Goods Vehicles (Authorisation of International Journeys) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1989 and shall come into force on 8th December 1989.
        2.    The Goods Vehicles (Authorisation of International Journeys)(Fees) Regulations 1983[3] shall be further amended by the substitution -
       (a) in regulations 4 and 5 of "£80" for "£100" and "£20" for "£26" ;
       (b) in regulation 6 of "£40" for "£50" and "£10" for "£14" ;
       (c) in regulation 8 of "£25" for "£50" .

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations amend the Goods Vehicles (Authorisation of International Journeys) (Fees) Regulations 1983 as previously amended by the Goods Vehicles (Authorisation of International Journeys) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1987. The effect of the amendments is to reduce the fees payable on the issue of certain authorisations, licences and permits required for international road haulage journeys as follows -
    Valid for a period of one year Valid for a period of less than one year
    community authorisation A decrease from £100 to £80 A decrease from £26 to £20 for each period of three months or part therof for which it is valid.
    E.C.M.T. licence A decrease from £100 to £80. A decrease from £26 to £20 for each period of three months or part thereof for which it is valid.
    period permit A decrease from £50 to £40. A decrease from £14 to £10 for each period of three months or part thereof for which it is valid.

    In addition the fee for a community removals authorisation is reduced from £50 to £25.
