The Director General of Water Services' Register (Inspection and Charges) Order 1989

Made 6th July 1989
Laid before Parliament 7th July 1989
Coming into force 1st September 1989

    The Secretary of State for the Environment and the Secretary of State for Wales, acting jointly in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 31(4) and (5) of the Water Act 1989[1] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:
    Citation and commencement
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Director General of Water Services' Register (Inspection and Charges) Order 1989 and shall come into force on 1st September 1989.
    Hours at which the register is to be open for inspection
        2.    The register maintained by the Director General of Water Services under section 31 of the Water Act 1989 shall be open for inspection (without charge) between the hours of 9.30am and 1pm and 2pm and 4.30pm on Monday to Friday of each week except when his office is closed on public or other holidays or by reason of an emergency or industrial action.
    Fee for certified copy
        3.    The fee payable for a certified copy of, or extract from, the contents of any part of the register shall be a fee calculated at the rate of £1 for any number of pages of the copy or extract supplied up to and including ten and 10 pence for each additional page.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    The Director General of Water Services is required under section 31 of the Water Act 1989 to keep a register which includes particulars relating to the appointments of water undertakers and sewerage undertakers under the Act. This Order specifies the times at which the register is to be open for inspection and the fee payable for certified copies of documents on, or extracts from, any part of the register.
    The fee for certified copies is £1 for any number of pages up to and including ten and 10 pence for each additional page.
