The Education (Grants) (Royal Ballet School) Regulations 1989

Made 6th March 1989
Laid before Parliament 6th March 1989
Coming into force 27th March 1989

    In exercise of the powers conferred by section 100(1)(b) and (3) of the Education Act 1944[1] and vested in the Secretary of State[2] , the Secretary of State for Education and Science hereby makes the following Regulations:
    Citation and commencement
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Grants) (Royal Ballet School) Regulations 1989 and shall come into force on 27th March 1989.
    Payment of grant
        2.    The Secretary of State may before 31st March 1989 pay a grant of such amount as he may determine to the governors of the Royal Ballet School, London, ("the governors" ) in respect of expenditure to be incurred by them on or in connection with the provision or alteration of buildings for the purposes of the School.
    Conditions of payment
        3.    The payment of grant under these Regulations shall be dependent on the fulfilment of such conditions as may be specified by the Secretary of State.
    Requirements to be observed
        4.    Where grant is paid under these Regulations the governors shall comply with such requirements (including requirements as to the repayment of grant or the payment to the Secretary of State of other sums representing the value of buildings provided or altered with the aid of grant or interest on sums due to him) as may be specified by the Secretary of State.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations authorise the Secretary of State to pay before 31st March 1989 a grant to the governors of the Royal Ballet School, London, to help to meet expenditure to be incurred by them in providing or altering buildings for the School. Payment is subject to such conditions and requirements as the Secretary of State may specify.
