CONTROL OF FUEL AND ELECTRICITY

The Fuel and Electricity (Control) Act 1973 (Continuation) (Jersey) Order 1988

Made 26th October 1988
Coming into force 30th November 1988

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 26th day of October 1988

Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

    Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 10(3) of the Fuel and Electricity (Control) Act 1973[1] , is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Fuel and Electricity (Control) Act 1973 (Continuation) (Jersey) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 30th November 1988.
        2.    Sections 1 to 8 of the Fuel and Electricity (Control) Act 1973, as it has effect in the Bailiwick of Jersey, shall continue in force for a period of one year beyond 30th November 1988, being the date on which they would otherwise expire.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order continues provisions of the Fuel and Electricity (Control) Act 1973 in force in the Bailiwick of Jersey for one year from 30th November 1988 (being the date to which those provisions were continued in force by the Fuel and Electricity (Control) Act 1973 (Continuation) (Jersey) Order 1987 (S.I. 1987/1834)).

[1] 1973 c. 67, as extended to the Bailiwick of Jersey by the Fuel and Electricity (Control) Act 1973 (Jersey) Order 1973 (S.I. 1973/2160); the Act was repealed by Part I of Schedule 4 to the Energy Act 1976 (c. 76) subject to the saving in Part II thereof of that it remains in force in its application to Jersey so far as it extends there by virtue of the 1973 Order (which itself continues in force by virtue of Part III of Schedule 4). back
