PUBLIC PASSENGER TRANSPORT

The Public Service Vehicles (Drivers' Licences) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1988

Laid before Parliament 1st July 1988
Coming into force 26th September 1988

    The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 52(1)(b)(i) and 60 of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981[1] , and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 61(2) of that Act[2] , hereby makes the following Regulations:
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Public Service Vehicles (Drivers' Licences) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1988 and shall come into force on 26th September 1988.
        2.    Regulation 11 (Fees for licences and duplicates) of the Public Service Vehicles (Drivers' Licences) Regulations 1985[3] shall be further amended—
       (a) in paragraph (1)(a) by the substitution for "£3" of "£5" ,
       (b) in paragraph (1)(b) by the substitution for "£10" of "£22.50" , and
       (c) in paragraph (2) by the substitution for "£3" of "£5" .
        3.    The amendments effected by these Regulations shall not apply where an application for a licence or a duplicate licence was received before 26th September 1988.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations further amend the Public Service Vehicles (Drivers' Licences) Regulations 1985 by increasing the fees for driving licences in regulation 11. The fee for an exchange psv driver's licence in paragraph (1)(a) and the fee for a duplicate psv driver's licence in paragraph (2) are increased from £3 to £5. The fee for a psv driver's licence in any other case in paragraph (1)(b) is increased from £10 to £22.50. These increases apply where an application for a licence is received on or after 26th September 1988.
