LEGAL AID AND ADVICE, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Legal Aid (Financial Conditions) Regulations 1988

Made 8th March 1988
Laid before Parliament 9th March 1988
Coming into force 11th April 1988

    The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 6, 9(2), 20 and 25 of the Legal Aid Act 1974[1] , hereby makes the following Regulations:—
        1.—(1)  These Regulations may be cited as the Legal Aid (Financial Conditions) Regulations 1988 and shall come into force on 11th April 1988.

        (2)  In these Regulations, "the Act" means the Legal Aid Act 1974.

        (3)  The Regulations specified in the first column of the Schedule shall be revoked to the extent specified in the third column of that Schedule.
        2.    For the yearly sum of £5585 specified in section 6(1) of the Act, there shall be substituted the sum of £5765.
        3.    For the capital sum of £4850 specified in section 6(1)(a) of the Act, there shall be substituted the sum of £5000.
        4.    For the yearly sum of £2325 specified in section 9(1)(a) of the Act[2] , there shall be substituted the yearly sum of £2400.
