HIGHWAYS, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Evesham-Birmingham Principal Road (A435) (Norton to Arrow) Trunking Order 1987

Made 29th December 1987
Coming into force 21st January 1988

    The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980[1], and now vested in him[2], and of all other enabling powers:
        1.    The lengths of the highways described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall become trunk roads as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Warwickshire and the County Council of Hereford and Worcester that the new trunk roads are open for through traffic.
        2.    In this Order:—

        (1)  all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highways;

        (2)  
       (i) "the deposited plan" means the plan contained in the folio numbered HA 10/2 WMRO(L)XLV marked "The Evesham—Birmingham Principal Road (A435) (Norton to Arrow) Trunking Order 1987" signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY;
       (ii) "the new trunk roads" means the trunk roads to be constructed by the Secretary of State in pursuance of the Bath-Lincoln Trunk Road (Alcester Bypasses A435/A422) Order 1987[3];
       (iii) "the A435" means the Evesham-Birmingham Principal Road; and
       (iv) "the A422" means the Worcester-Banbury Principal Road;
       (v) "the A439" means the Bath-Lincoln Trunk Road.

        3.    This Order shall come into force on 21st January 1988 and may be cited as the Evesham—Birmingham Principal Road (A435) (Norton to Arrow) Trunking Order 1987.
