ROAD TRAFFIC

The A41 Trunk Road (Watford Way, Barnet) (Prescribed Routes) Order 1987

Made 8th June 1987
Coming into force 12th June 1987

    The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[1] , and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Secretary of State for the Home Department, hereby makes the following Order:
        1.    This order may be cited as the A41 Trunk Road (Watford Way, Barnet) (Prescribed Routes) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 12th June 1987.
        2.    In this Order—

    "Watford Way" means that length of the London—Carlisle—Glasgow—Inverness Trunk Road (A41) in the London Borough of Barnet known as Watford Way;

    "central reservation" means that part of Watford Way which separates the two carriageways of Watford Way for the safety and guidance of vehicles using that road;

    "the junction" means the junction of Watford Way, Aerodrome Road, Aerodrome Road Service Road and Greyhound Hill;

    "the northbound right-turn lane" means the traffic lane, being part of the northbound carriageway of Watford Way, which is bounded on its eastern side by the central reservation, has a width of approximately 3.6 metres and extends from the junction southwards for a distance of 105 metres;

    "the southbound right-turn lane" means the traffic lane, being part of the southbound carriageway of Watford Way, which is bounded on its western side by the central reservation, has a width of approximately 3.6 metres and extends from the junction northwards for a distance of 105 metres;
        3.    Every person causing any vehicle to proceed in the northbound right-turn lane shall cause that vehicle to turn right into Greyhound Hill.
        4.    Every person causing any vehicle to proceed in the southbound right-turn lane shall cause that vehicle to turn right into Aerodrome Road.
        5.    No person shall cause or permit any vehicle proceeding in Watford Way to enter the service road which lies adjacent to the southern side of Aerodrome Road.
        6.    No person shall cause or permit any vehicle proceeding in the service road which lies adjacent to the southern side of Aerodrome Road to enter Watford Way.
        7.    Nothing in this Order shall apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a traffic warden.
