This Statutory Instrument has been made in consequence of a defect in S.I. 1987/156 and is being issued free of charge to all known recipients of S.I. 1987/158 (the Instrument amended by this Instrument).

POLICE

The Police Cadets (Injury Benefit) (Amendment) Regulations 1987

Coming into force 17th March 1987

    In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 35 of the Police Act 1964,[1] as extended by section 13 of the Superannuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1967[2] and sections 12 and 15 of the Superannuation Act 1972[3] , and after consulting the Police Negotiating Board for the United Kingdom in accordance with section 2(3) of the Police Negotiating Board Act 1980[4] , I hereby make the following Regulations:—
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Police Cadets (Injury Benefit) (Amendment) Regulations 1987.
        2.    These Regulations shall come into force on 17th March 1987 and shall have effect as from 25th November 1982.
        3.    Regulation 4(1) of the Police Cadets (Injury Benefit) Regulations 1987[5] shall be amended as follows—
       (a) after the words"Police (Injury Benefit) Regulations 1987"[6] there shall be inserted the words"(as amended by the Police (Injury Benefit) (Amendment) Regulations 1987)"[7] ; and
       (b) in paragraph (a)(iii), the words"on or after that date and" shall be omitted.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations amend the Police Cadets (Injury Benefit) Regulations 1987 in consequence of the Police (Injury Benefit) (Amendment) Regulations 1987 (which correct certain errors in the Police (Injury Benefit) Regulations 1987).
    As in the case of each of the above mentioned instruments, these Regulations come into force on 17th March 1987 and have effect as from 25th November 1982 (retrospection is authorised by sections 12 and 15 of the Superannuation Act 1972).
