The Authorised Officers (Meat Inspection) Regulations 1987

Made 1st February 1987
Coming into force 22nd February 1987

    The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Secretary of State for Social Services and the Secretary of State for Wales, acting jointly, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 73(2) of the Food Act 1984[1] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:-
    Title and comencement
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Authorised Officers (Meat Inspection) Regulations 1987 and shall come into force on 22nd February 1987.
    Authorised Officers
        2.    Pursuant to section 73(2) of the Food Act 1984 any officer of a council, being a person having any of the qualifications specified in the Schedule to these Regulations, may be authorised under that Act to act in relation to the examination and seizure of meat.
    Revocation of Authorised Officers (Meat Inspection) Regulations 1978
        3.    The Authorised Officers (Meat Inspection) Regulations 1978[2] are hereby revoked.
