EDUCATION, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Education (Publication of proposals to change status of a controlled school) Regulations 1987

Made 15th January 1987
Laid before Parliament 26th January 1987
Coming into force 1st April 1987

    In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 54(3) of the Education (No. 2) Act 1986[1] I hereby make the following Regulations:
    Citation and commencement
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Publication of proposals to change status of a controlled school) Regulations 1987 and shall come into force on 1st April 1987.
    Publication of proposals
        2.    Any proposals which are required to be published by section 54(3) of the Education (No. 2) Act 1986 (Change of status of controlled school to aided school) shall be published:
       (a) in at least one newspaper circulating in the area served by the school to which the proposals relate;
       (b) by being posted in at least one conspicuous place within that area, and
       (c) by being posted at or near any main entrance to that school.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations prescribe the manner of publication, under section 54(3) of the Education (No. 2) Act 1986, of proposals for an order of the Secretary of State to change the status of a controlled school to that of an aided school.
