The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1, 7, and 8(1) of the Animal Health Act 1981(1), make the following Order.
1. The title of this Order is the Disease Control (Wales) (Amendment) Order 2008. It applies in relation to Wales and comes into force on 6 June 2008.
2.—(1) The Disease Control (Wales) Order 2003(2) is amended as follows.
(2) In article 2, omit the definition of “veterinary surgeon”.
(3) For paragraph (3) of article 14, substitute—
“(3) Every animal which is moved under a specific licence must be kept separate throughout such movement from any animal which is not being moved under that licence.”.

This Order amends the Disease Control (Wales) Order 2003 (S.I. 2003/1966 (W.211)). It removes an unnecessary definition and clarifies the type of licence referred to in article 14(3) of that Order.
A regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
1981 c. 22. Functions under the 1981 Act were transferred to the National Assembly for Wales by S.I. 1999/672 and S.I.2004/3044. By virtue of paragraph 30 of Schedule 11 to the Government of Wales Act 2006, these functions are now exercisable by the Welsh Ministers. Back [1]
