The National Assembly for Wales makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 71, 128, 129, 203(9) and (10) of the National Health Service (Wales) Act 2006(1).

Title, commencement and application

1.—(1) The title of these Regulations is the National Health Service (Optical Charges and Payments) (Amendment) (Wales) Regulations 2007 which come into force on 29 March 2007.

(2) These Regulations apply in relation to Wales.

Amendment of regulation 1 of the National Health Service (Optical Charges and Payments) Regulations 1997

2.  In the definition of “NHS sight test fee” in regulation 1(2) of the National Health Service (Optical Charges and Payments) Regulations 1997(2)—

(a) for “£50.77” substitute “£52.04”; and

(b) for “£18.39” substitute “£18.85”.

These Regulations amend the National Health Service (Optical Charges and Payments) Regulations 1997 so as to make reference to an increase in the NHS sight test fees of 2.5%
