The National Assembly for Wales as highway authority for the M4 motorway in Wales makes this Scheme in exercise of powers conferred by sections 16 and 19 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and of all other enabling powers[2]:— 1. The lengths of existing special road described in the Schedule to this scheme and shown by heavy black lines on the deposited plan are to become trunk road from the date this Scheme comes into force. 2. In this Scheme:— (1) All measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway; (2) "the deposited plan" ("y plan a adneuwyd") means the plan numbered HA16/1 NAFW 3 and called the M4 Motorway (Junction 30 (Pentwyn) Slip Roads) (Trunking) Scheme 2006 signed by authority of the Minister for Enterprise, Innovation and Networks and deposited at the National Assembly for Wales, Record Storage and Retrieval Unit (RSRU), Neptune Point, Ocean Way, Cardiff; (3) "trunk road" ("cefnffordd") means the special road mentioned in article 1 and the Schedule to this Scheme. 3. This Scheme shall come into force on 21 December 2006 and will be called the M4 Motorway (Junction 30 (Pentwyn) Slip Roads) (Trunking) Scheme 2006. (ii) the eastbound on-slip road which extends from its junction with the A4232 at Junction 30 to its junction with main eastbound carriageway of the motorway at Junction 30, a distance of 370 metres and given the reference 2 on the deposited plan. (iii) the westbound off-slip road which extends from its junction with the main westbound carriageway of the motorway at Junction 30 to its junction with the A4232 at Junction 30, a distance of 380 metres and given the reference 3 on the deposited plan. (iv) the westbound on-slip road which extends from its junction with the A4232 at Junction 30 to its junction with the main westbound carriageway of the motorway at Junction 30, a distance of 270 metres and given the reference 4 on the deposited plan.
