In exercise of the powers conferred upon it by sections 75(1)(e) and 152(5) of the Learning and Skills Act 2000[1], the National Assembly for Wales hereby makes the following Regulations: Title, commencement and interpretation 1. —(1) The title of these Regulations is the Youth and Community Work Education and Training (Inspection) (Wales) Regulations 2006 and they come into force on 23 October 2006. (2) In these Regulations—
Prescribed education or training
(b) as further training of youth and community workers;
in so far as such education and training does not fall within any of sub-paragraphs (a) to (d) of section 75(1) of the 2000 Act. (This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations prescribe a kind of education and training for the purposes of section 75 of the Learning and Skills Act 2000 ("the 2000 Act"). Section 75 provides the extended remit of Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education and Training in Wales. Regulation 2 prescribes education and training provided by, or on behalf of, an institution within the higher education sector in Wales for the purpose of enabling persons to become youth and community workers or as further training for persons who are youth and community workers. The effect of the prescription is that this kind of education and training is brought within the remit of the Chief Inspector under section 75 of the 2000 Act. Notes: [1] 2000 c.21.back
