The National Assembly for Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred upon the Secretary of State by sections 76(4) and 140(4) of the Local Government Finance Act 1988[1] and now vested in the National Assembly for Wales[2], and after consultation with such representatives of local government as appears to it to be appropriate, in accordance with section 76(5) of the said Act, hereby makes the following Regulations: Title, commencement and application 1. —(1) The title of these Regulations is the Revenue Support Grant (Specified Bodies) (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2006 and they come into force on 20 March 2006. (2) These Regulations apply in relation to Wales. Amendment of Regulations 2. In relation to any financial year beginning on or after 1 April 2006, regulation 3 of the Revenue Support Grant (Specified Bodies) (Wales) Regulations 2000[3] is amended—
(b) by the addition, at the end, of—
(This note is not part of the Regulations) Section 84E of the Local Government Finance Act 1988 provides for revenue support grant to be payable to specified bodies. A specified body is any body which provides services for local authorities and is specified in regulations. These Regulations amend the Revenue Support Grant (Specified Bodies) (Wales) Regulations 2000 by removing the Public Private Partnerships Programme Limited and Syniad from the list of specified bodies and adding the Welsh Local Government Association. The amendments have effect for the financial years beginning on or after 1 April 2006.
