The National Assembly for Wales makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 16CB(2) and 126 of the National Health Service Act 1977[1]: Title, commencement and interpretation 1. —(1) The title of these Regulations is the Functions of Local Health Boards (Dental Public Health) (Wales) Regulations 2006 which come into force on 1 March 2006. (2) In these Regulations—
(3) These Regulations apply in relation to Wales.
(b) dental inspection of pupils in attendance at schools maintained by local education authorities; and (c) oral health surveys to facilitate—
(ii) the planning and evaluation of oral health promotion programmes, and (iii) the planning and evaluation of the provision of primary and specialist dental services.
(3) A Local Health Board will participate in any survey required by the National Assembly for Wales as part of a survey conducted or sponsored under section 5(2)(d) of the Act [2] (other services). (This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations set out the functions to be exercised by Local Health Boards in Wales in relation to oral health. Those functions relate to oral health promotion programmes, dental inspection of pupils in schools maintained by local education authorities and oral health surveys. Notes: [1] 1977 c.49.
