The National Assembly for Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by sections 112 and 210 of the Education Act 2002[1], and having made such arrangements for consultation about the proposals as it considers appropriate in accordance with section 117 of the said Act, hereby makes the following Regulations: Title, commencement and application 1. The title of these Regulations is the Education (Disapplication of the National Curriculum at Key Stage 1) (Wales) Regulations 2005 and they come into force on 1 July 2005. 2. Disapplication of the National Curriculum at Key Stage 1 (This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations made under the Education Act 2002 provide for the disapplication of the National Curriculum for Wales for pupils at maintained schools who are at the first key stage and who are participating in the foundation stage (known in Wales as the foundation phase) pilot.
