The National Assembly for Wales makes this Scheme in exercise of powers conferred by sections 16, 17 and 326 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and of all other enabling powers[2]: - 1. The National Assembly for Wales is authorised to provide along the route specified in Schedule 1 to this Order a special road for the use of traffic of Classes 1 and 11 set out in Schedule 4 to the Highways Act 1980. 2. The centreline of this special road is indicated by a heavy black line, and marked "A" on the deposited plan. 3. That length of special road described in Schedule 2 to this Order, shown by broad striped hatching and marked "B" on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road and a special road and shall become an Unclassified Road as from the date on which the National Assembly for Wales notifies the City and County of Swansea that the new special road is open to through traffic. 4. In this Scheme: - (1) All measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
(ii) "the special road" ("y ffordd arbennig") means the highway mentioned in article 1 of this Order. (iii) "the deposited plan" ("y plan a adneuwyd") means the plan numbered HA16/1 NAFW 1 marked the M4 Motorway Slip Road (Junction 44, Lon-Las) Scheme 2003 signed on behalf of the Minister for Environment and deposited at the National Assembly for Wales Record Storage and Retrieval Unit, (RSRU), Neptune Point, Ocean Way, Cardiff;

This Scheme shall come into force on the 28th March 2003 and may be cited as the M4 Motorway Slip Road (Junction 44, Lon-Las) Scheme 2003. A route from its junction with the new roundabout at junction 44 in a northerly direction for about 36 metres. The length of Special Road ceasing to be Trunk Road and special road is that length of the existing westbound on slip road at junction 44 from its junction with the existing roundabout extending in a north-westerly direction for about 162 metres.
