The National Assembly for Wales makes the following Order in exercise of the powers given to the Secretary of State by section 1(5) of the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) Act 1970[1] which are now vested in the National Assembly for Wales in so far as exercisable in Wales[2]. Name, commencement, application and interpretation 1. - (1) This Order is called the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) (Public Bodies) (Wales) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 19th July 2002. (2) This Order applies to Wales only. (3) In this Order "the 1970 Act" means the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) Act 1970. Designation of public bodies 2. The persons specified in the Schedule to this Order, being persons appearing to the National Assembly for Wales to be exercising functions of a public nature, shall be public bodies for the purposes of the 1970 Act.
