The Secretary of State for Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 158 of the Government of Wales Act 1998[1], hereby makes the following Order: 1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Government of Wales Act 1998 (Commencement No.6) Order 2001. (2) In this Order -

- (1) The date of 14 May 2001 is appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act -
Schedule 7 paragraphs 1(3), 2 to 7, 9(1), 9(2) so far as not already brought into force by the No.4 Order, 10 and 11 (Forestry Commissioners).
(2) Subject to paragraph (3), the provisions of the Act referred to in paragraph (1) shall (so far as not already brought into force) not apply in relation to the financial year beginning on 1st April 2000, or any earlier financial year. (This note is not part of the Order) This Order brings into force (so far as not in force already) section 105 of, and Schedule 7 to, the Government of Wales Act 1998, which make provision in relation to the exercise of the functions of the Forestry Commissioners in relation to Wales. Those provisions will come into force on 14 May 2001 and will apply in relation to financial years beginning on or after that date, except for section 105(4) (relating to pre-year consultation) which will apply in respect of financial years beginning on or after 1st April 2002. (This note is not part of the Order) The following provisions of the Act have been brought into force by commencement order made before the date of this Order.
