The National Assembly for Wales, being designated[1] for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[2]) in relation to the Common Agricultural Policy of the European Community, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by that section, and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, makes the following Regulations: Title, application and commencement 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (No. 3) (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2001; they apply to Wales and come into force on 27th March 2001 at 11.00 p.m. Amendment to the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (No. 3) (Wales) Regulations 2001 2. - (1) The Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (No. 3) (Wales) Regulations 2001[3] are amended in accordance with this regulation. (2) In regulation 1(2) for the words "midnight on 27th March 2001" there shall be substituted the words "midnight on 4th April 2001". (3) In regulation 2 for the definition of "the Decision" there shall be substituted -
(3) In regulation 4(2)(b)(ii) for the words "on animal health problems affecting intra-Community trade in fresh meat" there shall be substituted the words "on health problems affecting the production and marketing of meat products and certain other products of animal origin". (This Note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations implement Commission Decision 2001/239/EC amending for the third time Decision 2001/172/EC concerning certain protection measures with regard to foot-and-mouth disease in the United Kingdom. They amend the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (No. 3) (Wales) Regulations 2001 so as to extend the time they are in force until midnight on 4 April 2001. They make minor corrections to references to Directives. A regulatory appraisal has not been prepared for these Regulations.
